Kalyan Yim (b.1995) is a Hong Kong–based abstract artist whose work explores memory, emotion, and the quiet process of self-reconstruction.
She began painting as a way to express what words couldn’t — to process the noise within and reconnect with herself. What started as an act of healing soon evolved into a deeper exploration of how emotion and memory shape perception.
Working primarily with mixed media, Kalyan’s signature “glitch” style blends vibrant distortions and layered patterns — echoing both digital interference and emotional residue. These visual interruptions serve as metaphors for blurred memories, unresolved feelings, and the fragile beauty within imperfection.
By embracing abstraction without rules, she invites viewers to slow down, to feel, and to find pieces of their own stories within hers. Her work is rooted in honesty and vulnerability — capturing moments that are felt more than seen.
